What happens to your file
LibreOffice opens the file headless on Fylane’s servers and writes the target with its own export filter — the same conversion Save As does on a desktop, without the desktop. Deleted on schedule.
Each sheet becomes a table with its values (not formulas) and the basic formatting HTML can hold — bold, colours, alignment.
Questions
What happens to formulas?
You get their values. A web page has no spreadsheet engine behind it, so a cell showing a total arrives as the total rather than as the sum that produced it.
What is this useful for?
Putting a table on a page or in an email without a screenshot — the values stay selectable, searchable and readable by a screen reader, which an image of a spreadsheet never is.
Does the formatting survive?
The parts HTML can hold: bold, colours, alignment, and the grid itself. Conditional formatting, frozen panes and anything interactive do not, because a web page has no equivalent.
Do multiple sheets come through?
Yes, each as its own table in the output.
Should I use this or a PDF?
HTML when the table needs to live inside a page or an email and stay selectable. PDF when it needs to print or to look the same everywhere — Excel to PDF does that.
Do it once, not on every form
Fixing a file here means downloading it and going back to the form. The Fylane extension does this work inside the form instead, on the file you already have.
